About the Madison Scouts Hall of Fame

Madison scouts Hall of Fame

Forged from humble beginnings in 1920, the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps has established itself as a premier youth performing arts organization on the modern drum and bugle corps scene. Over a century since its formation, the Madison Scouts has been molded by many individuals who have gone above and beyond to make the corps what it is today.

Established in 2022, the Madison Scouts Hall of Fame honors the outstanding achievements of instructors, designers, administrators, performers, and volunteers who have impacted the Madison Scouts organization in monumental ways throughout its long history. Their contributions reflect the high level of training received, and leadership experience gained as a Madison Scout.

The Madison Scouts Hall of Fame will serve as the vehicle to honor great Madison Scouts and ensure the legacy of these individuals and the ideals they embody are preserved and carried forward.

The recognition award for the Madison Scouts Hall of Fame is a recreation of a sculpture called “The Ideal Scout,” awarded to C.H. Beebe in the 1950s. The Ideal Scout sculpture is also depicted in the hall logo.

Hall of Fame articles:

The Madison Scouts, Forward Performing Arts, and the Madison Scouts Alumni Association are pleased to announce the newly established Madison Scouts Hall of Fame, the highest achievement recognition and honor to individuals who have participated in the Madison Scouts organization throughout its long history.

C.H. Beebe

“We are thrilled to have finally established a Madison Scouts Hall of Fame to recognize, honor, and celebrate those who have given so much to the organization,” said Executive Director Chris Komnick. “Our inaugural class sets the standard of service and leadership and represents the true character of the corps.” This year’s inaugural class of inductees include C.H. Beebe, Bill Howard, and Scott Stewart.

C.H. Beebe is considered the “father” of the Madison Scouts, having helped re-establish the current corps in 1938 and formally serving as its executive director shortly thereafter and up until his passing in 1968.

On Saturday, July 2nd, the Madison Scouts hosted the longest-running drum corps show, Drums on Parade, and introduced the Madison Scouts Hall of Fame. Before the incredible performance, a tailgate was held nearby where alumni, fans, and family came to eat, drink, and celebrate. Over at the stadium, the show featured eight groups and ended with the Madison Scouts Hall of Fame Induction ceremony before the Madison Scouts came back out for their encore.
