The Madison Corps Project (MCP) is the first of its kind. We intend to include all Madison-based drum corps organizations: current members of the Madison Scouts and alumni from the Madison Scouts & Junior Scouts, Capitolaires & Petites, Capital Sound, 32nd Hussar, and State Street Review.

This project proposal is for a group participation at the 2026 Rose Parade in Pasadena, California, from Sunday, December 28th, 2025, through Thursday, January 1st, 2026.

Facts:

  1. Everyone participating would be responsible for their transportation to California and back home.
  2. While in California, housing, rehearsal facilities, transportation to all necessary locations, and most of your meals would be provided.
  3. Your cost will be determined soon, but we want to emphasize that it would not be as affordable as past MSARP projects due to the location and requirements of the parade.
  4. Rehearsals would begin on December 28, 2025, in Pasadena. All music and guard work would be available well in advance.
  5. Information about our uniform, equipment, music, design, staff, and other performance-related areas will be announced after we review our initial survey results and determine that sufficient demand warrants us to continue moving forward.
  6. We will be using B-flat horns and investigating lighter-weight percussion equipment options.
  7. This long (5.5-mile) parade is televised, so the officials keep the pace moving. Therefore, all participants must be in excellent health.

Our application for participation in the 2026 Rose Parade has been submitted. We should know by early fall, at the latest, of our potential involvement. Designers for color guard work, music, parade block, and teaching staff have been selected. A logo and uniform designs are also being explored. Be sure to “spread the word” to fellow alumni!

We're allowing alumni from the six organizations to make deposit payments today. Visit the Rose Parade Project website at www.madisoncorps.org to reserve your spot to participate in this exciting project.

UPDATE! You can claim your performance spot on the website if you are ready. Go to the Join link on the menu.
