  • On Thursday, October 24th, Madison Scouts Education Coordinator, Susan Smith, presented “Successful Design and Implementation for a Small or New Marching Band," in a session sponsored by Forward Performing Arts.
  • Forward Performing Arts, Inc. (FPA) announces its 2024 annual meeting on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 8 a.m (CT).
  • Sunday, October 22, 2023 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. Jointly hosted by the 7 Midwest Corps, instructors and administrators from the Blue Stars, Cavaliers, Colt Cadets, Colts, Madison Scouts, Phantom Regiment, and River City Rhythm will be on hand to make it a fun, educational introduction to the activity.
  • Sunday, October 27, 2023 in Oak Creek, Wisconsin.   • The Madison Scouts are excited to welcome back James Sparling to the design team in the role of battery arranger. James most recently worked with the Madison Scouts during the 2024 season as an ensemble coordinator. In addition to the Scouts, he is currently on the design and educational team for Cap City Percussion, as well as the Director of Percussion at Rouse High School and Wiley Middle School in Leander, TX.
  • The Madison Scouts are excited to announce that over 800 Wisconsin area high school band students will be attending The Whitewater Classic with free tickets provided by a grant program through Forward Performing Arts.
  • The Four Lakes Council Boy Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, currently known as the Madison Scouts, has a well-documented history of continuous operations since February 3, 1938. However, recent research efforts of historical archives has uncovered evidence that the corps originated on December 3, 1920 under the direction of Lewis Kessler and maintained an active performance schedule through the end of 1925.
  • The Madison Scouts, Forward Performing Arts, and the Madison Scouts Alumni Association are pleased to announce the 2024 inductees to the Madison Scouts Hall of Fame, including Tom Acheson, Jeanne Beckman, Calvin Harris, Bruce Lages, Jim McCarthy, Michael Turner, and Stan Stitgen.
  • Madison Scouts & Forward Leadership are combining forces to present a one-day band camp experience for high school students at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire on June 22, 2024, and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater on July 6, 2024.

  • The Madison Scouts are honored to announce that Scott Boerma, alumnus and long-time music arranger, has been selected for induction to the Drum Corps International Hall of Fame. Scott has served passionately in the drum corps activity for over 35 years, starting in 1984 as a member of the Scouts (baritone), continuing as a brass instructor in 1986, and ultimately serving as a world-class music arranger for over 30 years with both the Madison Scouts (24 years) and Spirit of Atlanta (6 years). 
  • The Madison Scouts are pleased to announce the Color Guard Instructional Team for the 2024 season, led by PJ Tankard, Caption Head.
  • The Madison Scouts are pleased to announce the Visual Instructional Team for the 2024 season, led by Sierra Rogers, Caption Head.
  • The Madison Scouts are pleased to introduce their drum majors for the 2024 season, including returning drum major Lex Rodrigues Monteiro, veteran front ensemble member Paige Shumney, and new members Jana Paulsen and Andrew Schulte.
