• Alumni Group Performs at DOP

Brass Knuckles groupBrass KnucklesThis year, we have some very cool performance opportunities and chances to see other alumni continue to do what they love to do. Here are a few of those events:

The Brass Knuckles will be performing at the tailgate once again this year. Three members are alumni of the Scouts (www.brassknucklesquintet.com)

Alumni from the Scouts, Capitolaires, and Capitol Sound will join together to perform the Star Spangled Banner before Drums On Parade (tickets) and the Whitewater Classic (tickets) shows. We hope to see you there before 6:45 PM.

  • madisoncorps

Alumni performance opportunities for all alumni associated with past Madison area drum corps, including Madison Scouts, Madison Jr/boy Scouts, Capitolaires, Capitolaires Petites, Capital Sound, 32nd Hussars, State Street Review Colorguard, and Southwind members while under the MDBCA umbrella.

  • Update from Madison Alumni Corps performance future

    Hello Madison Corps Alumni,
Results from the last survey indicated that the majority of alumni found the Ireland parade to be the most desirable venue for a group experience. We're happy to inform you that we've already been accepted to perform in the St. Patrick's Day parade in Ireland in 2028, whether or not we choose to go. We are also reviewing the other options in our survey to prevent the disappointment of the Rose Parade. The second most popular was the Parade in Hawaii; the third was in Hollywood, California; the fourth was in Texas; and the fifth was Veterans' Day in New York.

We are still evaluating participation costs and the best method for members. We'll be sending out a survey soon to gauge how much schedule and financial independence participants are comfortable with, along with rough cost estimates. That will include options for housing, travel, and even tourist-related activities, if there is a strong enough desire for a tour company package.
We are also investigating the possibility of a joint performance with the Madison Scouts, starting possibly this year. All alumni, including brass, percussion, color guard, and even conductors, would be eligible to be a part of this unique multi-generational experience. This potential opportunity would be a chance not only to meet current members and staff, but also to dust off our performance chops.

    Stay tuned!
