Rockin For A Cure Performers for 2022
This year features three very different musical ensembles that have proven that excellence in performance can also be wildly entertaining. Each ensemble takes a completely different approach, but common to all three groups is the passion that each performer feels and shares with the audience.
Beni Daiko
Beni Daiko utilizes the art of Japanese Taiko drumming to present and honor the customs and traditions of ancient Japan. They also present works that reflect a more modern approach but do so without sacrificing the basic principles of this century’s old art form.
Forward! Marching Band
You have to see it to believe it, but we guarantee you’ll love it — The Forward! Marching Band. This unique and outrageous troupe puts on a show that is so infectious you’ll want to jump up and join in the celebration. Originally formed as a social activist band, they have evolved into a legitimate and extremely entertaining act without losing sight of their original purpose. They carry out their mission with pure creative humor and joy that they share with everyone.
Madison Scouts All-Star Alumni Brass Ensemble
The final act of the evening is going to be a very special presentation by an all-star cast of Madison Scouts Alumni. This 25-man brass and percussion ensemble organized by Scott Stewart has an incredible combined total of over 300 years of Madison Scouts performing and teaching experience. They will be playing a number of Madison‘s greatest hits, as rearranged especially for this event by John Georgeson and Jim Yakas. At the conclusion, they will be joined by other Madison Scouts in attendance for the singing of You’ll Never Walk Alone. A video recording of these three acts will memorialize this once-in-a-lifetime performance. Stay tuned on how to obtain this recording by making a donation to Rockin For A Cure.
