Welcome, New Alumni!

The Madison Scouts 2023 season is officially over! The Sound Garden has flourished and now the members, staff, and volunteers have dispersed back to their homes.

Immediately after their last performance in Indianapolis, the corps gathered to sing Never Walk one last time together, hear from the staff, and hug each other tightly. While many 2023 Madison Scouts members can look forward to performing next season, 28 age-outs’ careers as marching members are over. For these new ageouts, some Madison Scouts Alumni Association representatives were waiting nearby, ready to welcome them to the other side.

The representatives of the MSAA shook hands with the new alumni, gave advice, shared how proud we are of them, and told them how to get involved. We also continued our tradition of gifting the alumni with neckerchiefs to wear during the age-out ceremony. The neckerchiefs are a way to call back to our roots as a Boy Scout troop and a link to the uniforms worn in the past. The MSAA members present represented years ranging from the '70s through 2022.

2023 Age-out Class

We proudly welcome these 28 new alumni to the Madison Scouts Alumni Association.

Scouts alumni also met up on Friday for lunch and drinks. We joined the families of the Madison Scouts members at Tavern on South for a huge gathering. This event was generously sponsored by Forward Performing Arts Board of Directors members as a thank-you to the Madison Scouts alumni.

Gathering in Indy

The MSAA did A LOT this season! Compared to last year, we took on more than twice as many projects this year and hoped that you could join us at one or more of our events, support our fundraisers, or interact with us somehow!

There’s still plenty to look forward to in the off-season, including a new future project for alumni new and old, Hall of Fame nominations, and more chances to reconnect. Stay tuned!

The MSAA is entirely run by passionate volunteers who want to grow our alumni presence and support the Madison Scouts. If you’re interested in helping the MSAA, applications to join the board of directors will open in mid-late October. Or if you’re not ready to join the BOD but want to help out in other ways, please submit a Volunteer Form! There are many areas in which we can use your talents.
