A Set of Rules from the Executive Director

    May 20, 1953

    Dear Scout:
We are entering our 15th year of Drum Corps activities and the corps has been a credit to our families, city, state, and country, and we hope to continue it with your cooperation; so a set of rules is submitted:

    Full Corps Roster on Corpsdata

This page contains all of the 4775 members of alumni listed in CorpsData as of 08-11-2025. corpdatalogo The main reason we are posting this information now is that we are missing lots of alumni. If you do not see yourself here, please update your information on CorpsData.net. If CorpsData access isn't possible, you can fill out our form online to add your information. We will upload data from this form at least a few times monthly.

You can also download the form if you would prefer to fill it out, print it out, drop it off at the Scouts Souvenir Stand at one of the corps shows this summer, or mail it to the address at the bottom of the form. Add your name to member roster (177.88 KB)

Also, if you see your name twice or more, we must merge your accounts with the correct information. If your Junior/Boy Scouts years are listed here, they must be moved to the Madison Junior Scouts organization. How? Please delete the item in your profile history area. Then, reenter your information by selecting "Madison Junior Scouts" rather than leaving the default Madison Scouts. Please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you have any questions so we can clean up our records with everyone's correct information.

We will update this page approximately monthly to move toward a complete database. At first, everyone should focus on their information. Once you have confirmed that all of your information is up to date on CorpsData, you can help us with departed alumni if they are not listed or if incorrect information is listed.

You'll never walk alone! Thank you, MSAA Team

Know Your Madisonian - WSJ 1959

    From Wisconsin State Journal

    Clarence H. Beebe

Most people would jump to the conclusion that C. H. Beebe is too old to be a Boy Scout.

And while it is true that Beebe is considerably older than the typical scout, there are thousands of Madisonians who'll argue with that conclusion.

    Latest from Preservation Project

Over the last few years, a small group of alumni, via the Alumni Breakfast Club, have been making visits to the Evansville warehouse to go thru the memorabilia and archives that are stored there. The group has included several Scout alumni including, Lyle Sigglekow, Karson Klund, Tom Mcinvaille, David Woolpert, Scott Stewart, Jim Sanborn, and a few others.

We initially did a rough inventory of the material that was stored in a variety of boxes on the shelves to get an idea of what we are dealing with. We have now moved on to slowly reorganizing the artifacts into new storage bins (thanks to the generosity of Lyle and the Alumni Breakfast Club) and making an inventory/catalog of individual items. Tom Mcinvaille has been photographing the items, we collect some basic data, and are using a cloud-based spreadsheet/database to make the catalog available for sharing.

We plan to continue as long as it takes to get a complete inventory of this important archive. We will generate a list of contents for each bin and attach it to the outside of the bins. Once the catalog is complete, we can begin to prioritize which items are in need of more attention such as re-matting and re-framing some large-format photos, special storage, or for example, scanning the collection of more than 100 brass arrangements from the 1950s thru the 2000s.

Madison Scouts Partners with WeScanFiles to Digitize Archives

With 85 years of photos, articles, and artifacts, the Madison Scouts have a rich collection of historical content that needed to be captured and preserved. As a sponsor of Drum Corps International (DCI), WeScanFiles was already familiar with and supportive of the drum corps activity.

“We had dozens of plastic tubs filled with content,” said Scouts Executive Director Chris Komnick. “We have had many starts and stops to get it digitized, but we needed a solution to get our history archives professionally scanned and accessible.”

In the spring of 2021, Komnick reached out to Blake Crenshaw of WeScanFiles and discussed the project. Soon thereafter a van-load of bins was delivered to the WeScanFiles warehouse in Fort Worth, Texas to initiate a year-long process.

“I was thrilled to be contacted by the Madison Scouts,” said WeScanFiles’ owner Blake Crenshaw. “As an alumnus of the drum corps activity, I am always seeking ways that I can give back. Helping the Scouts digitize their valuable archives was both a privilege and an exciting historical exploration.”

  • Newly Discovered Madison Scouts History Dates Back to 1920

The Four Lakes Council Boy Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps, currently known as the Madison Scouts, has a well-documented history of continuous operations since February 3, 1938. However, recent research efforts of historical archives have uncovered evidence that the corps originated on December 3, 1920, under the direction of Lewis Kessler and maintained an active performance schedule through the end of 1925.

  • Preserving our history

Preservation of our history project underway

A small group of alumni have begun a project to inventory and preserve the accumulated physical history of the Madison Scouts that is currently stored at the corps’ warehouse in Evansville, WI. Work on the preservation has been going on for the last year, but there is much yet to be accomplished.

Recording our history for future generations of Scouts

    Scouts Memorabilia Records

The MSAA History Committee has been busy for awhile working on inventory and preservation of decades old items, including books, handwritten music scores, clothing, paintings, trophies, and other interesting documents. This process is ongoing with the necessary help of many volunteers.

  • Seeking Volunteers to Help Write Recent Scouts History!

20070607 verona concert school district banner
The Madison Scouts Alumni Association (MSAA) is seeking volunteers to help document the 2000-2021 seasons of the Madison Scouts! This is vital to ensure that the members of the future and alumni can look back on the storied history of the corps and be more connected to "the giants whose shoulders they stand on." A written history of the corps currently exists that covers from the early years of the corps through the end of the Millenium, but a written history for the past two decades doesn't yet exist. We are searching for volunteers to research and write the first draft copy for this project.
