As summer quickly approaches, we are just days away from the 2026 Madison Scouts beginning move-ins in preparation for the 2026 Drum Corps International Summer Tour.
With the season almost underway, the Madison Scouts Alumni Association is excited to once again host one of our favorite tour traditions: the Texas Brisket Dinner on Friday, July 17, in Lockhart—proudly known as the Barbecue Capital of Texas.
This year marks the 5th consecutive year that we have welcomed the corps with an authentic Texas-style feast the evening before the DCI San Antonio Regional Championship.
2025 BBQ Events
In true Texas fashion, we plan to serve:
- Over 80 pounds of smoked brisket
- 225 savory sausage links
- 80 pounds of hearty potato salad
- 80 pounds of delicious baked beans
This will also be the fifth straight year that Lockhart High School has graciously hosted the Madison Scouts for their rehearsal day and meals. Last year’s event was an incredible success, with corps parents adding a Kona Ice shaved ice truck to help members cool off after dinner.
We are looking forward to making this year’s Texas Dinner another memorable experience as we officially welcome the corps to Texas and help fuel them for one of the summer's most important competitions.
Sponsor a Brisket
With the event now less than two months away, we are asking our alumni for support.
Through the Madison Scouts online store, alumni from across the country will have the opportunity to Sponsor a Brisket. Your contribution will directly help provide this one-of-a-kind Texas meal and deliver a tremendous boost of morale as the corps prepares to perform in one of the biggest shows of the season.
Every donation, large or small, helps continue this special tradition and demonstrates the support of the Madison Scouts alumni community.
Thank you for helping us make the 5th Annual Texas Brisket Dinner our best one yet.
May You Never Walk Alone,
Jorge Antonio Franco
