'What was good enough in July...'
The Madison Scouts have been working diligently to clean MadiSpin, a show that has received quite favorable responses from audiences across the Tour. We're proud to provide the audience with a program that they respond so strongly to, and are doing everything in our power to maximize its potential as we head into the DCI World Championships in Indianapolis next week.
'Cleaning' is the name of the game—individual accountability, discipline, and consistency are at the forefront of the work. The old adage, 'what was good enough in July is no longer good enough in August,' speaks to the effort and intentionality the members, staff, and administration are charged with bringing to the plate each day, and each rep. We trust that lesson translates far beyond their time with the drum corps—career, family, relationships, self, etc.
Competitively, we recognize that we don't directly control the outcome, but we'll be damned if we give anything less than 100% in the effort to maximize our season. As you all well know, the challenge of a drum corps season prepared us all well for life's trials—the current corps is in the thick of that transformation now.
As we head into Allentown, Canton, and Championships week, consider sending me a few words of wisdom you have for the corps via email. I'll sprinkle your thoughts across the next week to help keep the corps focused, and to show them the support they have from 88 years of giants.
Thank you to the many Alumni who have contributed to the success of the corps this season—whether via volunteerism, donations, MSAA effort, or attending a show or rehearsal.
