Board Elections and Staying Connected

I feel more connected to the Madison Scouts today than I've ever been, even when I was an active marching member, and it’s because of the Alumni Association.

Sam RecordsAfter I aged out in the glorious summer of 2016, I craved a way to stay involved beyond watching from the stands. Joining the Alumni Association Board of Directors gave me a way to stay a part of the Scouts ecosystem and give back to the organization that means so much to me. Rather than slowly drifting away after aging out, the Alumni Association lets me strengthen my bond with the Scouts and keep it an active part of my life.

If you are also looking for a way to keep the Madison Scouts in your life, the MSAA is for you. We are looking for leaders to serve on the MSAA Board of Directors in 2027, and you can help! This is an extremely rewarding way to give back, strengthen alumni connections, and help drive the future of our group.

Don’t hope somebody else will do it. Don’t wait until you have more time (you’ll always say that). Don’t think just not for you. Take the leap! You won’t regret it.

We aren’t a stuffy group of businesspeople in suits sitting around a conference table looking at reports. We're a group of alumni who want to bring the alumni base together to support the Madison Scouts. We meet on Zoom once a month to organize fundraisers, make cool shirts, plan fun events, and cheer for our corps.

If you are interested in contributing your skills and knowledge to further the mission of the MSAA, please let us know by filling out this application by Sunday, November 30, 2026.

Staying Connected in the Off Season

How do you stay connected to the Madison Scouts after aging out? Nurturing our roots in the corps is an important way to remember how much we appreciate it and how we’ve grown because of it, even when our marching days are behind us.

Many alumni keep the energy alive throughout the year by grabbing a beer with fellow Scouts, gathering for breakfast with the Alumni Breakfast Club, marching in alumni parades, or even hosting virtual game nights.

We’d love to hear how you’re keeping your connection to the corps alive! Do you get together with other alumni in your city? Do you have a special off-season tradition with your section? Do you share memories or rewatch old shows with friends and family?

Please share your stories and photos with us! We may feature them in a future newsletter to inspire others to stay connected.
