Madison Scouts Alumni,
We are rapidly approaching the Summer season and are eager to get this show on the field.
State of the Corps
The corps is in a strong staffing and roster position as it enters 2025. Our Caption Heads & Design Team are back in full force, with the addition (and return) of James Sparling as Battery Arranger and Co-Percussion Caption Head. The membership is full, and about to enter a critical April Camp weekend in Oak Creek, WI -- thanks to OCHS Band Director & MS Alumnus, Guy Gregg! Audition interest for the corps has been excellent, and the talent is at a level where we were able to confidently fill the drum corps in mid-April.
Mark Waymire & Co. have been doing wonderful work preparing the show. Stay tuned for upcoming news regarding the 2025 production...
David LofyVirtual training during the Winter months has become an essential component of the modern drum corps experience. Video assignments, workout plans, Zoom sectionals, and leadership sessions all support the Membership as they work their way toward move-ins on June 1 (percussion on May 27). The caption heads have worked hard to build a virtual plan that prepares the performers well for the Summer ahead. Most notably, this also allows us to continue to teach lessons on accountability, timeliness, professional communication, preparedness, excellence, etc. in between camps.
April Camp -- Join us at Oak Creek HS on Sunday at 10:00 AM
For those who are interested in visiting the corps and/or getting a sneak peek of the music & color guard, please join us on Sunday at 10:00 AM. If you plan to swing by, send me an email at
Summer Tour
The corps will embark on a unique tour, as the route shifted slightly from the Midwest -> Texas -> Atlanta -> Allentown -> Indy for some corps. We will instead kick off our Tour in Cedarburg on July 2 and will tour the Midwest through July 12th before we embark for the San Antonio 'All Skate' on July 19th. Afterward, we head back up to Wisconsin for our home show on July 25th. The corps will then head out to the East Coast with stops along the way, before returning to Indianapolis for Championships.
Cheer on the Corps
Join us at The Whitewater Classic (July 5) and/or Drums on Parade (July 25). The MSAA will be hosting tailgates at BOTH events.

C.H. Beebe Scholarship Fund
If you're interested in donating to the C.H. Beebe Scholarship Fund, you can do so here: https://scoutsproshop.com/products/chbeebescholarship. The performers are currently working on their applications, so now is a great time to contribute to the fund. The scholarship committee works diligently to ensure that this support is directed to performers who truly need it, considering their personal, home, and life circumstances. Rest assured, your support of the Scholarship ensures that young people who would not otherwise be able to march can live out their dream of being a Madison Scout.
Thank you all for your continued support of the corps. I feel fortunate to bear witness to the incredible personal and performance development these young people undergo during their Madison Scouts experience each day. I also recognize that without all that you've done to foster goodness, excellence, service, etc., to the Madison Scouts as performers and alumni, we would not be able to provide this life-changing program. Know that the current members truly look to you as legends and guiding lights -- you should hear them cheer when we play any of the 80s recordings of Ice Castles...or when our Brother dances on the box in 1995...or when the corps sang and played YNWA in the 2013 closer...
May You Never Walk Alone,
David Lofy
