There’s not enough words to express how thankful I was for the scholarship opportunity. The money I received allowed me to be a part of something greater than myself. It means a lot to me that I was one of the recipients for this past 2024 season. My family has been struggling financially due to some unfortunate events surrounding my father and I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to afford to march but, this scholarship opportunity gave me hope and it preserved where I couldn’t. So thank you!

Bailee Schwartz
My name is Bailee Schwartz, and I marched with the Madison Scouts Color Guard from 2021-2024. I was a C.H. Beebe Scholarship recipient in 2024. I am incredibly thankful for my time at the Scouts as well as the scholarship program that allowed me to make my ageout summer possible. I have tried to put into words the experiences I had with the Scouts countless times, but it is truly an indescribable experience for me. It changed me as a person in the best way possible and taught me that I am capable of so much more than I knew. The C.H. Beebe Scholarship and the Madison Scouts have given me so so much. I will be forever grateful for the opportunity the scholarship has given me.

Eliana Hall
Hello! My name is Eliana Hall and I just aged out with the Madison Scouts. No amount of words can describe how grateful I am to have been a recipient of the C.H. Beebe scholarship. Marching my ageout with the Madison Scouts was incredibly important to me and I continuously worked 2 jobs while going to school full time to raise enough money to march. Without the help from this scholarship, I would not have been able to have the best summer of my life. I got to lead and perform alongside some of the best people I’ve ever met and I am humbled to have gotten that opportunity with the Madison Scouts. This season brought color back into my life. The true joy and happiness marching with the Madison Scouts has brought me over the last 3 years is ineffable. The friends and family I have met have helped me become the performer and person I am today. Thanks to the help from the C.H. Beebe scholarship I am beyond honored and grateful to call myself an Alum of the Madison Scouts. Thank you for helping me be a part of this mosaic, and thank you for being a part of mine.

The CH Beebe helped me and made my dream become possible. I became a Madison Scout in 2023 and loved it that year. I knew that I had to return because I felt like it was not the end for me there and that I still had more to learn and grow from. I knew that came with a lot of expenses and already working two jobs and taking care of my brothers and family, that was going to be a challenge I had to face. When going through the process of getting ready for the 2024 season I tried to apply for as many scholarships as possible. Unfortunately, I did not make the deadline and I just thought that I wouldn’t be able to march and I was devastated. I started thinking of other ideas to fundraise money, GoFundMe, making bedazzled fleur shirts, selling anything I could. As those did not go how I thought they were going to turn out, I also applied to the CH Beebe scholarship. I had no hope at this point on getting anything from it because everything else fell through. Fast Forward to May of 2024, a couple weeks before move ins. Nothing in my email yet, I’m starting to get sad and realize that my dream of marching drum corps ends this year, and then I got the email of the results of the CH Beebe scholarship. I GOT IT! I could not describe how excited, relieved, and ecstatic I was. This weight got lifted off my shoulders and I was able to breathe and just be able to sink it in that my dream of marching drum corps from professionals that are incredibly talented and have created this path for me to grow in but also learn from. I was able to march with my family again and I wouldn’t have been able to do so without the help of the scholarship.

In 2023, I came to the Madison Scouts for the last 3 weeks of the season to learn and perform a hole in the show. Although short, it was the most incredible and memorable 3 weeks of my life. When I went home again, I knew I needed to do Scouts in 2024 for the whole season. Although I was working my hardest, I was significantly struggling to make payments, and it got to the point where I would not be able to march if I could not pay my remaining fees, which I could not. I applied to the C.H. Beebe scholarship, praying that maybe I would be selected for at least a small portion of the scholarship. When I found out that I had been awarded the exact amount of money I had left to pay, I was in tears of relief and gratitude. I was the happiest person on this planet when I realized I had made it, that I could march Scouts 24. I did exactly that, going on to make the main weapon line and landing myself multiple solos. This 2024 season was even better than I could’ve ever imagined, and it is all thanks to the C.H. Beebe scholarship. This scholarship will forever change my life and the experience I was able to have because of its wonderful impact. I hope to see this scholarship continue to help those who are as badly in need of it as the same way I was and to continue to give opportunity to the people who need it the most.

The C.H. Beebe scholarship played a large role in my participation with the Madison Scouts. We all know that marching DCI is expensive, but when applying for this scholarship, I did not know that it was worth it to have the experience of marching. I now know that marching DCI, let alone with the Madison Scouts, is worth it, and thank you to the donors of the C.H. Beebe scholarship for making it possible. For a little back story, I am a full-time college student working part-time. I am currently a sophomore at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, studying biochemistry. I can proudly say that I have completed my freshman year with zero debt. Now, that wasn’t easy as I was working countless hours and studying hard to get good grades, all while still trying to have a life. When auditioning for the Madison Scouts I knew that I would be paying for it by myself. I was talking with some alumni of other corps and current members at the Madison Scouts when I said that money might make it impossible to march. They told me about the DCI-sponsored scholarship, and I was informed about the C.H. Beebe scholarship. I applied for multiple DCI-sponsored scholarships and, lastly, the C.H. Beebe scholarship presented by the Madison Scouts Alumni Association. I did not know anything about the Alumni Association at the time of application. I quickly learned that they are a part of the backbone of the Madison Scouts Drum Corps. They genuinely care about the soon-to-be and current members and then create another family after you age out of DCI. They are willing to support each student in some way, no matter the sum they can give, to make it possible for them to live out their dreams of marching with the Madison Scouts. I rarely have felt that amount of support that they show toward their members and to myself, individually. Along with applying for scholarships, I asked my friends and family if they would like to support my summer endeavors. That said, I was trying my best to get my tuition covered for the summer of 2024. When I received the email about the scholarship amount that I received, my jaw dropped, and I cast a large smile on my face. The support that they were able to give to me was insane and I cannot say thank you enough to the Madison Scouts Alumni Association. The scholarship led to my participation for the 2024 season. It truly helped close the gap in the sum of money that I was short during my tuition payments to pay for the 2024 season fully. In all honesty, without their support, marching would have been barely possible, if at all possible, to march in the summer. I feel honored to receive a portion of the C.H. Beebe scholarship and to be supported by the Madison Scouts Alumni Association. It is a priority of mine in the future to be able to donate back to the C.H. Beebe fund to help support future Madison Scouts members. Warm Regards, Elie Wendinger
