Patricia Omilianowski, 2025 Madison Scouts Hall of Fame Inductee.
Patricia Omilianowski
Patricia “Pat” Omilianowski began her volunteer service with the Madison Scouts organization alongside her husband, Dan, when their son, Andy (percussion), joined the Jr. Scouts in 1977. Pat would take weekends and vacation time from her job at the University of Wisconsin to help out. Dan and Pat were known to travel with the Jr. Scouts in their motorhome and were recognized by their CB call signs, “Zero” and “Sub-Zero.” Pat did many things for the Junior Scouts, including cooking, sewing flags, mending and washing uniforms, and merchandise sales.
Madison Scouts Hall of Fame - biography:
When Andy moved up to the Madison Scouts in 1982, so did Pat and her volunteer service. Pat joined the “souvie crew” in 1982 and began running the merchandise sales in 1984 along with Henry Barney and Barb Loeffelholz. In addition to that responsibility, Pat and Barb began sewing flags for the corps and (with a substantial crew) made virtually every flag the corps used for about a decade. This included the massive piano flag from the 1985 show, which was a huge logistical challenge.
Pat continued with souvenir sales after their sons had finished their performance careers with the Scouts. This included Pat & Barb purchasing embroidery machines to give the Scouts more options for merchandise products. Pat served the Scouts organization for nearly 30 years before retiring after the 2006 season. Pat passed away in November 2014 at the age of 71.
